Murrieta Valley Unified School District officials have no plan to change its dress code policy, despite demands from a clothing distributor.
In September, the district received a letter from MM Compound, an Irvine-based limited liability corporation that licenses Metal Mulisha brand apparel, demanding the district lift all bans against the clothing.
Metal Mulisha is a popular freestyle motocross team based in Temecula. The team made national headlines last year when one of its members, Jeremy Lusk, 24, died as a result of head injuries suffered during a competition in Costa Rica.

No, that is not the new and improved Mulisha logo, I just made that to accentuate the effect of the title. So this ban happened a little while ago, and the Mulisha is not too happy about it. I mean, a ban on their products in Murrieta? That probably represents a solid 40% of their core market, so they are fucked. No wonder they've got every lawyer they can afford hounding some poor school principal about how they need their clothing in there. This is all just too funny for me. Like, the Mulisha logo has never been used to represent neo-nazi thought or practice, to my knowledge. I would bet anything that this school's admins are just trying to prevent douchebaggery in their schools, and just using the Nazi reference to legitimize it. That is pretty ingenious. Ok folks, I respect some of the Mulisha riders for what they have done and can do on a bike, but the brand? No way. That brand has been adopted by every brohole from Murrieta to Boston. Yes, the whole country. It's one of those brands that doesn't even represent motocross, just being an asshole. Funny thing is, this Murrieta school also banned SRH clothing, which I must say 100% supports my hypothesis. Just ban Ed Hardy and they will have covered the douche-trifecta.
Side note: I must say that it's bullshit that they bring up Jeremy Lusk in this article, saying that his passing is what made MM famous. That is completely an attempt to attach the brand to a tragic story, so that people will associate the brand's popularity with that one event. They just want people to think that Mulisha promotes risking your life. That's just fucking stupid, and I have to sympathize with the MM on that matter.
While I have to agree with you on this deal 100% (as well as many other of your posts), you too could stand to follow some of your own advice... RE: Yesterday's post about J-Law.
ReplyDeleteTake it 'eazy' with the fbombs. You don't need 'em.
School board bands clothing brand for promoting motorcycle safety.

Their logo features a skull wearing a helmet. This is obviosly a reminder to all people that wearing helmets decrease risk of death in all accidents.
