Ivan Tedesco's "Lose Yourself" Moment Supplied Many Laughs
Did everyone see Ivan Tedesco in the second 450 heat race? Guy was absolutely going for it. He summoned his inner power animal, and it was a tiger or hyena or something, because he was really getting medieval on the track out there. Then James Stewart passed him. None of us were surprised, that's for damn sure. Like, no one expects Ivan to compete with the number 7. But Ivan apparently missed that memo, because there he goes just sending it to the inside of Stewart in a corner, only to finally come to the abrupt realization that he had no business trying to make that move. How much do you want to bet that Tedesco listens to his iPod out on the track, and at that moment he was listening to "Lose Yourself" by Eminem? After Stewart passed him, they were coming into that corner, and Ivan just heard the voice of Marshall Mathers saying "You only get one shot, do not miss your chance to blow, this opportunity comes once in a lifetime". And Ivan replied "Fuck yeah" and lawn darted his black Kawasaki into that corner with absolutely no second thought whatsoever. Of course, then he went down, because this isn't 8 Mile and he was trying it on James fucking Stewart. "Snap back to reality, oh, there goes gravity." The roller coaster of emotions that he was riding followed that song to a T. Don't bring a knife to a gun fight, bro. I know that people usually applaud riders really throwing it out there and going for the gusto, but the inherent risk is you may fail. Hard. And when you do, I'm going to make fun of you. Such is the nature of the sport. Don't hate the player, hate the game. Unless your name is Eazy. I rest my case.

ReplyDeleteI guess you didn't see it when Stewart passed Ivan, stewart hit him. What you saw was the retaliation. Ofcourse Ivan knows he wasn't going to pass Stewart back in that corner. He was just sending a message. I think he chose to get him back that way cause he knew he would faulter but not loose too many spots making sure he still made the main. Ivan's not the best rider but after that he did have a hold on 1st place for awhile in the main. I believe he had the hole shot too. He's starting to get it together.
ReplyDelete^^^ That's the dumbest thing I've ever read. "He knew he would falter but not [lose] too many spots". Yeah, real message that he sent.
